Port Clinton Lighthouse & The Lightkeepers
The Port Clinton Lighthouse is located in Port Clinton's downtown waterfront. This lighthouse was constructed in 1896 and has since been restored in 2014.
The light is mounted atop a 12' x 12' square sided pyramidal wooden structure and the red light is visible for 6 miles. The height of this structure is 26'.
Also in the painting is the bronze sculpture named "The Lightkeepers" which was completed by Andy Sacksteder, a well known sculpture artist who lived in this community. It was purchased by the "Keepers of the Lighthouse" on Oct. 3, 2020 and is now a permanent addition to the lighthouse.
I completed this watercolor in September of 2020. This painting area is 10" x 15" with a 1" white border.
