Lighthouse on Marbelhead
The Marblehead Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the US side of the Great Lakes since 1822. It is 50' in height and mainly made of local quarried limestone. The walls are 5' thick.
This is one of Lake Erie's best known and most photographed landmarks.
I painted this watercolor in September 2020 and the sunny colorful fall day made for a great photo and setting as my painting reference. This painting area is 9" x 12" with a 1" white border.
